UPCYCLED IPAD CASE
Hello friends, Welcome to my blog!! Last week when I was organizing my craft studio I found my old ipad case. I don't want to throw it away so up-cycled it into a mixed media project ( my latest craze !!)
This is my DT post for CSCC # 14 - Mixed media work. The theme is to create mixed media work inspired by the below picture. Click here to know more about this month's challenge .
This is how my old IPAD case looked like....
And this is how I transformed it....
I covered the case with DCWV pattern paper and sewed the white lace to it. This is the first time am using my sewing machine for scrapbooking. I applied a coat of gesso . The next step is to work on the background. For that I have used plaid stencil pack and liquitex modeling paste and created random textures.I decided that my project should be centered around two colours - Red and gold. So I applied golden pearl paint upon the raised portions of the textures. Next I randomly sprayed red color shine and did stamping using black acrylics.
The Eiffel tower is a chipboard painted with a mixture of antique gold and black colour.
The flowers are handmade using punches. I used pearls and golden beads as embellishments. The sentiment is hand-painted using white acrylic paint.
For the inside of the case I have used pattern paper from recollection floral collections. I have made small pockets using brown cardstock for storing some of my important documents like credit cards, license, insurance details , travel pass etc that I usually forget when I go out. I also have pockets to store some cash and my shopping lists. My case also holds a handy notepad and a pen . Now I need not worry, whether I took all my documents. I just need to slide this case inside my handbag and am all set to go.
This case can also be altered as a travel jewellery pouch/make up pouch that can store eye pencils, chains, bindhi packets and some bands. Hope this gives you a little inspiration . Hop on to the CSCC blog for more inspiration.
