Hello Friends , Welcome back to my blog!! How are you all doing?? My little one who is now 2 years is keeping me busy that I get very little time to craft. This project is very special to me as me and my daughter together teamed up to make this for my husband's birthday.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiQ-53rXnhEKF8ThVzIik6sXwlUy3FkGPEWLuY3QvIzz2jOJtdX3Q-fpAGnyV6OIn-MHTPDq13CDIXvs-zM9gDkEHQnDkQIW7UHJOwdtYvetefvnTOOtbgW1Jc4acuCEVVKKfyBfZOP67z/s1600/DSC06397.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1354" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjiQ-53rXnhEKF8ThVzIik6sXwlUy3FkGPEWLuY3QvIzz2jOJtdX3Q-fpAGnyV6OIn-MHTPDq13CDIXvs-zM9gDkEHQnDkQIW7UHJOwdtYvetefvnTOOtbgW1Jc4acuCEVVKKfyBfZOP67z/w270-h320/DSC06397.jpg" width="270" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This time I wanted to include my daughter as well for making some gift. So was thinking to create something that my daughter loves so she can also participate in the process. When I saw these cup cake boxes in pinterest I decided that I want to do this as she likes cup cakes. She helped me in punching the flowers( the major work) and choosing the color of the cardstock.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Each cupcake box opens up to a mini accordion fold journal and cookies.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<b><span style="color: #0c343d;">PROCESS:</span></b><br />
<span style="color: #274e13;"><b>SUPPLIES NEEDED:</b></span><br />
1. Styrofoam balls ( I have used 2.5 inches balls)<br />
2. Paper cup<br />
3. flowers ( punched/ readymade)<br />
4. Embellishments for decoration - craft pearls, lace , streamers etc<br />
5. Hot glue gun<br />
6. Cardstock or pattern paper<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvi6SRVGUBOEQE51J1eRba3Q5Y4EWLq90ogWRpcq1ioQkdxMZJa04wz5HiO7kJbEE49Nb8SwYP8OThsSw7u0n7usqwWX9s0g4WcIlBjnWbe_GYg2cysi3ZOv0CQuWNcKXNx2p1llD4hf1i/s1600/DSC06349.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1135" data-original-width="1600" height="226" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvi6SRVGUBOEQE51J1eRba3Q5Y4EWLq90ogWRpcq1ioQkdxMZJa04wz5HiO7kJbEE49Nb8SwYP8OThsSw7u0n7usqwWX9s0g4WcIlBjnWbe_GYg2cysi3ZOv0CQuWNcKXNx2p1llD4hf1i/w320-h226/DSC06349.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<br />
These cupcakes are easy to make and are ideal as a gift . They are also cute as a desk-top decoration. I followed the tutorial of Miranda ( she has a video tutorial on this project) to make this project. Check out her blog for some amazing projects <a href="http://mslibertycreations.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">here</a>.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicswpZ33u8knHUo5L-vLpX_olOfZ7yV8nTUeWv8IBVmbybfD3pxqSN9H6zwkqQuQNFkUzuWBQIIndlNGER5W8vLtBJCWXP0SA7vvVM5vmJO-ojWUXrtxmcCW4exQWexkCAblRAZccSFUXl/s1600/IMG_3973.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicswpZ33u8knHUo5L-vLpX_olOfZ7yV8nTUeWv8IBVmbybfD3pxqSN9H6zwkqQuQNFkUzuWBQIIndlNGER5W8vLtBJCWXP0SA7vvVM5vmJO-ojWUXrtxmcCW4exQWexkCAblRAZccSFUXl/w320-h320/IMG_3973.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Cut the styrofoam balls into half using an exacto knife. For the base of the cup cake measure 2 inches from the bottom of the paper cup and cut it.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBChf2PDDrblQft9I47pYTlIcvhU2CFWodgd9mmbvVmiuKvsZBY96IiLjXkHi3hQpMrQG-1RX3LYnHcxOc4Xt_Xl3Pw668iAtec3tpRzmbbHsc-91VjzwcozvrDpDfA3k0yas0KBdgmfRd/s1600/IMG_3974.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBChf2PDDrblQft9I47pYTlIcvhU2CFWodgd9mmbvVmiuKvsZBY96IiLjXkHi3hQpMrQG-1RX3LYnHcxOc4Xt_Xl3Pw668iAtec3tpRzmbbHsc-91VjzwcozvrDpDfA3k0yas0KBdgmfRd/w320-h320/IMG_3974.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
Cut a piece of cardstock measuring 12 inches by 2 inches. Using a scoring tool score at every 1/4 inch. Fold back and forth ( accordion fold) and glue it around the paper cup .<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Punch different colored flowers and glue them to the styrofoam using hot glue gun. Decorate the frosting with pearls and glitters. The red cherry at the top is made out of modeling clay and painted with red acrylics. Cover the base of the lid / frosting with a circular piece of paper so that the styrofoam base is not visible outside.</div>

Its my favorite time of the year - yayy its spring finally here in California. The weather is warm and trees are in full bloom everywhere around me. The magnolias and the daffodils makes me feel happy and fresh. So to celebrate this season and welcome these flowers around me created this project "Spring bloom". </div>

<b><span style="color: #0c343d;">Process:</span></b></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I covered the outer layer of the box with DCWV paper pack.Adhered black lace and Rhinestone chain.Distressed the edges using black ink and used red shimmer spray for the top of the box. </div>

All the flowers are handmade using recollections punch. Glued a small piece of twine , craft pearls, silver beads , leaves and flowers . Since the flowers are created inspired by the cherry blossom and daffodils, all the flowers are either in pen or yellow color. </div>

<br />
I havent done any card for almost an year. This week's challenge theme in casology and freshly made sketches compelled me to do this card.The challenge theme being abstract I was searching about some abstract art ideas and was really interested upon this mosaic art. I haven't tried this so far and that interested me to try it out. Since its easter season and my daughter is all into eggs now made an egg mosaic card.<br />
<br />

. Initially painted all the colors of rainbow upon a piece of watercolor paper. Then cut an egg shape using black cardstock. Cut the painted sheet into small abstract shapes and glued them upon the black cardstock.<br />

Hello friends, welcome to m blog!! Today am sharing with you all four different types of earrings made using pom- poms.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3mBlvOoY3YAnSTpTKWOQlPWTiZklegugzCvgARH1Yrtnk96NUwpGDdFSxbdnXzbySSXDTZO6PuooyHYUDsIlL4PkCB48WcE_EG9k8JLtBKJhKNNSLbXObSsA2vNx7qrpFn2mLL-cokus3/s1600/Ribbet+collage.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1024" data-original-width="1178" height="278" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3mBlvOoY3YAnSTpTKWOQlPWTiZklegugzCvgARH1Yrtnk96NUwpGDdFSxbdnXzbySSXDTZO6PuooyHYUDsIlL4PkCB48WcE_EG9k8JLtBKJhKNNSLbXObSsA2vNx7qrpFn2mLL-cokus3/w320-h278/Ribbet+collage.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
When I was searching for pom-pom activities for my toddler I came across the idea of using them to make earrings , from pinterest. Since the weather is slowly getting warmer wearing these whimsical earrings are so much fun. So saved a few small pom-pom's from my daughter's stash and made these earrings.<br />
<br />
These are very simple and easy to make. The main thing is to insert the headpin/eyepin through the pom - pom correctly. I found an easy way to do it from the site <a href="http://honestlywtf.com/diy/diy-pom-pom-earrings/" target="_blank">Honestlywtf. </a><br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigzjIEtqdQTzZOMpKV-UQ3vrhbkOexpvt4ie1BCFJDUN2_aH_I0YDBakHm0nVAfCsu0Z8INKKLsusrcShr88AYwQzxMp291-isSwuuvH7rk6z8qWawpBr88x-DJGuTEQj3jLJYM6HXvXO-/s1600/DSC05554.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" data-original-height="805" data-original-width="734" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigzjIEtqdQTzZOMpKV-UQ3vrhbkOexpvt4ie1BCFJDUN2_aH_I0YDBakHm0nVAfCsu0Z8INKKLsusrcShr88AYwQzxMp291-isSwuuvH7rk6z8qWawpBr88x-DJGuTEQj3jLJYM6HXvXO-/w290-h320/DSC05554.jpg" width="290" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
For this earring I have used blue beads and small blue pom - pom s<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivmt6mb3HZxnbYfBq4735bQtC9vsMxf58S0iz_kcTLFxg725V-nXdK20z8C97NCNwoZFOsAY-MNUWDKfo26ANDG0E6pD4pAMuqEm-ehRYbt5yGCaMIO1E_57XAyNzRQD4vl6dBLf6dFeZe/s1600/DSC05559.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="1473" height="234" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivmt6mb3HZxnbYfBq4735bQtC9vsMxf58S0iz_kcTLFxg725V-nXdK20z8C97NCNwoZFOsAY-MNUWDKfo26ANDG0E6pD4pAMuqEm-ehRYbt5yGCaMIO1E_57XAyNzRQD4vl6dBLf6dFeZe/w320-h234/DSC05559.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
I made a pair of hoop earrings using black pom- pom, black crystals and beads,<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIwiBUBLWh8oPiETY3EGtQDfkMKpo_sklnHDLBkyoXGXIKiVLICBASJYgKyqcQXfo2FdrTbiH8uW0w6cbiIT1VLC_u-Hojgak4ssUhkL1KUP4WcVyzzP0F1sA5pZOTpJcxZhCp9qHDIw1A/s1600/DSC05578.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="948" data-original-width="997" height="304" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjIwiBUBLWh8oPiETY3EGtQDfkMKpo_sklnHDLBkyoXGXIKiVLICBASJYgKyqcQXfo2FdrTbiH8uW0w6cbiIT1VLC_u-Hojgak4ssUhkL1KUP4WcVyzzP0F1sA5pZOTpJcxZhCp9qHDIw1A/w320-h304/DSC05578.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
For this earring I used white seed beads danglers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl7l3KkH1R-U_tfEMvnQXo5-cGSBnC_sP3C-cs8d918GeCNymgXTSlAk2rKKRqIl6iN6NrHS-ZJMWK8_GWWXrHtFv4ZD8sNzmEN-HlHPCWyjVRpDTc1WjdEm5Jwy2l0nAwf21Y4Q_-K2sl/s1600/DSC05576.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="967" data-original-width="1055" height="293" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhl7l3KkH1R-U_tfEMvnQXo5-cGSBnC_sP3C-cs8d918GeCNymgXTSlAk2rKKRqIl6iN6NrHS-ZJMWK8_GWWXrHtFv4ZD8sNzmEN-HlHPCWyjVRpDTc1WjdEm5Jwy2l0nAwf21Y4Q_-K2sl/w320-h293/DSC05576.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello friends, Welcome to my blog!! Wishing you all a happy and prosperous 2018!! Am very excited about today's post as its not the usual art and craft post that I share.This post is about DIY toddler busy activities using materials in and around the house. These are simple activities that are engaging and will promote independent play. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKEGF7dwG1OTZucuRx6AicEbaHVrewWn4kYAxEGdjrD0Q6iFRGxD1WvlUtHwxGn74cMvgrOJqvts92TWFwSOiM-U2kmepBI7ijKVjVyGMzZo10OFaHKMx8rXU5ZpPJHTD5t7V_UTpwAM7h/s1600/BeFunky+Collage.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKEGF7dwG1OTZucuRx6AicEbaHVrewWn4kYAxEGdjrD0Q6iFRGxD1WvlUtHwxGn74cMvgrOJqvts92TWFwSOiM-U2kmepBI7ijKVjVyGMzZo10OFaHKMx8rXU5ZpPJHTD5t7V_UTpwAM7h/w320-h320/BeFunky+Collage.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Since its cold here in California am not able to take my daughter frequently out to play . Also many of her friends have gone on a vacation so the playdates are not happening. So I have to keep her occupied the full day inside the house without getting bored . I googled about some ways I can keep her engaged and was surprised to see countless resources on keeping your toddler busy on a budget of $1.These activities also help in the development of gross motor, fine motor and problem solving skills. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Below are some of the activities which I tried with my daughter.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #0c343d;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<span style="color: #0c343d;"><b>1. ACTIVITIES USING POM- POM</b></span><br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
She loves to play with these pom- pom balls and will get excited the moment she sees the box in which I have stored them. She likes to throw them all around the house. Though its little difficult to clean it is a very good gross motor activity or her. These are a huge hit among all kids who come for a playdate. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #274e13;"><b>Tissue roll pom-pom drop:</b></span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Initially she was more interested in removing the tape from the wall but soon she started dropping the pom- poms into the tube . This activity improves the toddler's hand eye co- ordination and fine motor skills.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="color: #274e13;"><b><br /></b></span>
<span style="color: #274e13;"><b>Muffin tray color sort:</b></span><br />
You can use empty egg cartons instead of muffin tray. This improves problem solving skills.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="color: #0c343d;"><b><br /></b></span>
<span style="color: #0c343d;"><b>2. ACTIVITIES WITH COLOR BALLS:</b></span><br />
I got this pack of 100 plastic balls from amazon . My daughter loves throwing balls all around the house and these colorful ones are her favorite.<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #274e13;"><b>Paper cup basketball:</b></span><br />
Covered the paper cup with color card stock and she has to drop the respective color ball in the cup. Though she is still learning to sort colors she loves to drop the ball into the cup.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNtBDUnbbvQGWwNDfQlTXrxxyZIKsWMXuhUcSR3EaV5pLbzSf8rSrXC48QOq1JOulYPKzOFsQmSmMYcVie39tlBa8Y6YBB7a9vs6Z68qdgUaAnn-QekM71YAvZi-9lwwiQszPnFrpSdooD/s1600/DSC05276.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1005" data-original-width="1335" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNtBDUnbbvQGWwNDfQlTXrxxyZIKsWMXuhUcSR3EaV5pLbzSf8rSrXC48QOq1JOulYPKzOFsQmSmMYcVie39tlBa8Y6YBB7a9vs6Z68qdgUaAnn-QekM71YAvZi-9lwwiQszPnFrpSdooD/w320-h240/DSC05276.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<span style="color: #274e13;"><b><br /></b></span>
<span style="color: #274e13;"><b>Yogurt container ball sort:</b></span><br />
I took 3 yogurt containers and covered them with color card stock and my daughter has to fill the container with the color of the container. She is still learning to do this so she completes this activity with my help. For her the fun part is to throw the balls once the container becomes full.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim9rj4hD1QPa05OSlVf9dR9qDYBE_DaZbK_qPL0HYHO2QWDVGkDdoR3mO2QcwJjjAPNFadrzrlvA49P60poxKTJgZ9t_WP5kP861j9k7tjTLMljVrPde-HOmjI9cFmRct8BePQXO5KdBy5/s1600/DSC05281.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="838" data-original-width="1600" height="166" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim9rj4hD1QPa05OSlVf9dR9qDYBE_DaZbK_qPL0HYHO2QWDVGkDdoR3mO2QcwJjjAPNFadrzrlvA49P60poxKTJgZ9t_WP5kP861j9k7tjTLMljVrPde-HOmjI9cFmRct8BePQXO5KdBy5/w320-h166/DSC05281.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: #274e13;"><b>Cardboard box ball drop:</b></span><br />
Of all the three ball activities this is her most favorite. Made holes in the packaging cardboard using exacto knife and she drops not only balls but even some of her favorite toys into it<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-FDpkgRDulSnde7ben3mKeq8WGsepkJZvSLWbh0DVUi9fg-QyKlGrh0Z7jw1BsGxhJnsA1iR-pDyBf5WZ9NmeEgW8qr49wqUVyKH1IGCGE9mZi7u3O0dl73zm_z2ARTZkogc6sbN4DjMB/s1600/IMG_3326.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1405" data-original-width="1600" height="281" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-FDpkgRDulSnde7ben3mKeq8WGsepkJZvSLWbh0DVUi9fg-QyKlGrh0Z7jw1BsGxhJnsA1iR-pDyBf5WZ9NmeEgW8qr49wqUVyKH1IGCGE9mZi7u3O0dl73zm_z2ARTZkogc6sbN4DjMB/w320-h281/IMG_3326.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="color: #0c343d;"><b>3. PIPE CLEANERS AND BASKET:</b></span><br />
This is the activity I give her when I prepare dinner or wash vessels. She will try to insert the pipe cleaners into the hole one by one and then remove everything . An excellent activity which improves fine motor as well as hand eye co-ordination.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_sP9j9yibwvIelMbRdcMyTPl31crHBkZNBYIs7DWhA1ifQ87PXmO0Qz_MWYcQA7V2NcKhxXirPLBCme0ZDk3WqmKk2GQqKpIW2Rf05vuZefxkvwob3ddqzHoerWtLkExn8UU2j2GeEF8M/s1600/IMG_3441.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1280" data-original-width="720" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_sP9j9yibwvIelMbRdcMyTPl31crHBkZNBYIs7DWhA1ifQ87PXmO0Qz_MWYcQA7V2NcKhxXirPLBCme0ZDk3WqmKk2GQqKpIW2Rf05vuZefxkvwob3ddqzHoerWtLkExn8UU2j2GeEF8M/w180-h320/IMG_3441.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<span style="color: #0c343d;"><b>4.STRAWS AND YOGURT CONTAINER:</b></span><br />
Take an empty yogurt container and make holes small enough to insert straws into it. The pushing and pulling action improves fine motor skills<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPLc4gidMscX1N36-tNaZzkUgb_hzxsghH1gFgRdsnAS_SNcCutA2XFPfIDJ64fsJD9q3lnbTXObuIN9Ha-TDl9huyBlG_MXni2seuSsordzVzbIk8K7HeYLWaetae4xRNKaTlvypMmpTz/s1600/DSC05294.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="900" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjPLc4gidMscX1N36-tNaZzkUgb_hzxsghH1gFgRdsnAS_SNcCutA2XFPfIDJ64fsJD9q3lnbTXObuIN9Ha-TDl9huyBlG_MXni2seuSsordzVzbIk8K7HeYLWaetae4xRNKaTlvypMmpTz/w180-h320/DSC05294.jpg" width="180" /></a></div>
<br />
<span style="color: #0c343d;"><b>5. ACTIVITIES USING POPSICLE STICKS AND RUBBER BANDS:</b></span><br />
I bought a pack of 100 popsicle sticks at the dollar tree. For the first activity I will give her a few popsicle sticks and rubber bands. She has to put the rubber band onto the stick. This develops her problem solving skills.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDKGBZ_1S5IZivjQdtqRNJNczqFb3SMRQz-7jcJNK9hF5Fli7TA3n6RHB57KqZ1pVdrcXm3QgZsFCvc8jUgNzq2s6VunnlEhLqblJTf0bhSBGyJbHXDZUaEKQ3FDlhXfB4mEzjLZLCvNZi/s1600/DSC05303.jpg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1063" data-original-width="1599" height="212" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgDKGBZ_1S5IZivjQdtqRNJNczqFb3SMRQz-7jcJNK9hF5Fli7TA3n6RHB57KqZ1pVdrcXm3QgZsFCvc8jUgNzq2s6VunnlEhLqblJTf0bhSBGyJbHXDZUaEKQ3FDlhXfB4mEzjLZLCvNZi/w320-h212/DSC05303.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
This is her favorite activity and she can do this even for half an hour without getting bored. I will tie the rubber bands around the stick and her job is to pull the band out. Initially I made just two loops so the band is loose enough for her to remove. Now she is able to do more challenging task of removing a band tightly wrapped around two sticks together. Sometimes she tries to slide the band out and other times she pulls the band. Either way it will improve her problem solving skills.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #0c343d;"><b>6. MAGNETS:</b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
A fail proof way to keep your child entertained as well as educate them. I bought these shape magnets from target dollar spot . When my daughter realized that they will stick to the surface and won't fall she screamed with excitement. She could play for hours with this magnets. She will stick all the magnets remove one by one slide them down etc. Later we taught her the names of the shapes and she grasped it very quickly. We tried to teach her the concept of shapes through books, pictures shape sorters etc. But it was only through magnets she learnt them. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #0c343d;"><b>7. WASHI TAPE PEEL ACTIVITY:</b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is also a quite activity that will keep the toddlers engaged for a while. I usually peel the edges a little so its easy for her to peel the whole tape. You can also use different color tape and ask them to peel a color.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #0c343d;"><b>8. FOAM SHAPE FINDING ACTIVITY:</b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This activity I learned at the library and she loves this very much. I bought a pack of assorted color felt sheets from daiso japan and cut different shapes from each color. I had a black felt cloth that I</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
use for my craft purpose so used that as a base for this game. She loves smiley so that is the hidden object in this play. Will hide the smiley underneath one of the felt shapes and she has to find the hidden smiley. Every time she opens up a shape will tell the name of the shape and color. She will be very happy when she finds the smiley. A fun game which teaches shapes, colors as well as improves their problem solving skills.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #0c343d;"><b><br /></b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #0c343d;"><b>9.PIPE CLEANER BRACELET:</b></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
My daughter is too small for this activity. The idea is to put the pony beads into the pipe cleaner and make a bracelet. These pony beads I got it from Walmart. Alternatively I ask her to match the color of the beads to the pipe cleaners. She tries to put the pipe cleaner into the beads and with repeated practice I think she will be able to make a bracelet soon. Since this activity is very challenging for her she always wanted to give it a try.</div>

<br />
After she learnt shapes through magnets decided to try the same for teaching colors. So covered the popsicle sticks with color card stock and attached magnetic tape at the bottom. Took a white sheet and glued the strips of colored card stock. I bought a cookie sheet so that we can play with the magnets even when we are travelling. But more than the cookie sheet she loves to stick them upon the fridge. She learnt the colors quickly and matches with the colors on the sheet. Since I didn't include black and white color she is not very familiar with those colors.<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sorry I didn't take pictures while we did this activity. I lined up two color card stock and gave her a new brush. We had water in a paper cup. I had a brush for me and I dipped the brush in the water and painted strokes in the card stock. She saw me doing it and after a few minutes she herself started to paint. After forty minutes I had to stop this activity forcefully as the card stock has become wet and started to tear. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For the first time the kids may not be interested in some of the activities.Initially they might not know how to play so they will get bored and will give up. But upon repeated exposure they will know how to play and slowly will get better at it. That will give them confidence and they will ask for more activities rather than screen time.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Do post your comments/suggestions.Hope you will also try these activities. See you soon with another interesting post.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello Friends , Welcome to my blog!! Today am sharing with you all Warli art on a canvas board using air dry clay. I actually made this for my friend/ neighbor who bought a new house . </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This friend who herself is an excellent artist loves everything creative and handmade. Since she is from Gujarat decided to make a Warli art welcome sign for her new home. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD6uYvvRYvzI261StwIcblOsFjQgBqlOcKutSgBBxKaJHO3Xce9OHngtKk1KXDLIDb08fmiqObDaEYDmcj6KBeu6WEY7O6KOlAvMockZPXukgOzut9gEuLaQlS7fs-6v0E1jV4vsBef9mK/s1600/DSC04915-3.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="972" data-original-width="1227" height="506" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjD6uYvvRYvzI261StwIcblOsFjQgBqlOcKutSgBBxKaJHO3Xce9OHngtKk1KXDLIDb08fmiqObDaEYDmcj6KBeu6WEY7O6KOlAvMockZPXukgOzut9gEuLaQlS7fs-6v0E1jV4vsBef9mK/s640/DSC04915-3.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I used polyform air dry clay and artist's loft canvas board for making this mural. Here are some pics of the process. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwEJqtlIlaOBIpNnZ8z6dcHB8pVg0PY0j6RZ7zqv6d8gbT9L_V7at_KMwBuRraWqWZvHo1Gg6vMH9cwALGe-xxypKOEA5tbB-MT0Zjby2ODTqfuAmarryh039fI4i_lcyRJFVEkk3wCaeW/s1600/IMG_3348.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1219" data-original-width="1600" height="302" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhwEJqtlIlaOBIpNnZ8z6dcHB8pVg0PY0j6RZ7zqv6d8gbT9L_V7at_KMwBuRraWqWZvHo1Gg6vMH9cwALGe-xxypKOEA5tbB-MT0Zjby2ODTqfuAmarryh039fI4i_lcyRJFVEkk3wCaeW/s400/IMG_3348.JPG" width="400" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I referred the internet and finalized a design and did a rough sketch on the canvas board. Then cut out a triangular shaped template for the structure of the warli man. I made sure that all the warli men are of the same size. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Once the clay work is over I let it dry for two days and then started to paint. I used Daler Rowney's black acrylic and folkart metallic gold colors. Finished the mural by applying two coats of varnish.</div>

Last week one of my friend invited me to her house for Navarathri. Since she likes art and craft I wanted to gift her something handmade. That's when this cell phone stand cardboard box caught my attention. As it was sturdy decided to give it a makeover and made this treasure/ jewellery box from it.</div>

Hello friends, welcome back!! Today am sharing with you all my first attempt in creating a digital portrait of my daughter. I made this painting for her first birthday which we celebrated a month back.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZp0joEUhxBbYNoNnLVwmaJyNsfU2g1K2MMOZxJXjFO-LQaR0RRo73bmaTb-VflvzPyWA-vMSw3kPRvnB6h3IYEVAsLOHJreMKpYf-xHU9cusErr64BhzzyPjS5ekKHKGE_byfACrAozw5/s1600/vinaya+portrait+final1.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1207" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjZp0joEUhxBbYNoNnLVwmaJyNsfU2g1K2MMOZxJXjFO-LQaR0RRo73bmaTb-VflvzPyWA-vMSw3kPRvnB6h3IYEVAsLOHJreMKpYf-xHU9cusErr64BhzzyPjS5ekKHKGE_byfACrAozw5/s640/vinaya+portrait+final1.jpeg" width="482" /></a></div>
<br />
I wanted to create something special for her first birthday and that's when I came across the digital portrait painting class by Gabrielle Brickey in skillshare. Taking up that course gave me confidence to try painting my daughter's face. I used "Krita "software for the whole process.<br />

Hello friends, Welcome to my blog!! Today I am sharing something different from my usual posts. My first attempt in designing a T shirt with the art supplies theme for entering into the arty-outfit competition hosted by draw with Jazza.<br />
<br />
I designed two T shirts incorporating the art supplies theme. As I was browsing for some T shirt design ideas I came upon this word art He"art". I decided to use this concept and drew a rough design on a paper. Then I scanned the image and using vector art created an svg file using inkscape. Inkscape is an open source software which is very useful for vector drawing.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-Yhx_6tzrxoJlfzyLZVazmg-Rn5e5cBLQhAeqeHv90qNiYCg4MYK1oVNcKYeVzj1dWMu0Pbvz98Wq-4B0Ro-l3UngSTCy3sAjxLpDQI37BSTLWbGuk7rWRHpEpr0SX0hbhoj9nWBR3kz7/s1600/01-T-shirt+final.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="770" data-original-width="692" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg-Yhx_6tzrxoJlfzyLZVazmg-Rn5e5cBLQhAeqeHv90qNiYCg4MYK1oVNcKYeVzj1dWMu0Pbvz98Wq-4B0Ro-l3UngSTCy3sAjxLpDQI37BSTLWbGuk7rWRHpEpr0SX0hbhoj9nWBR3kz7/s640/01-T-shirt+final.jpg" width="574" /></a></div>
<br />
The second T shirt is inspired by a tattoo design found in pinterest. I am always a big fan of zentangle art. So modified the tattoo design a little and created a zentangle themed T shirt. For this initially I drew it on a paper using sharpie and then scanned the image and tweaked the edges using inkscape pen tool.<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello friends Welcome back to my blog!! Am posting after a long time as I was busy with my one year old baby. Since this is the birthday season in our house we bought cakes to celebrate them. After consuming the cake the base board of the cake was very sturdy that it resembled a circular canvas. So altered it to a mixed media layout. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9HfIdOUIV9JIlXE94GsHn5EaNKQgt485xIL1ciziEWHd2yjyKB6NgwyROyzhepDte7Gy61SeIwTOiPyH96zUtigOUmKGiSuLnnX-CaAs7m5coCEaXBBU0rGxSWy6RnVXIVgnRKBd__3SS/s1600/DSC04584.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="1169" height="590" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9HfIdOUIV9JIlXE94GsHn5EaNKQgt485xIL1ciziEWHd2yjyKB6NgwyROyzhepDte7Gy61SeIwTOiPyH96zUtigOUmKGiSuLnnX-CaAs7m5coCEaXBBU0rGxSWy6RnVXIVgnRKBd__3SS/s640/DSC04584.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I cleaned the base board using a wet cloth and then applied thick coats of gesso. For textures I scrunched the butter paper pieces ( tissue paper ) and pasted using glue Then applied some random textures using texture paste and stencils. I used diluted alcohol ink and color shine sprays of teal , yellow and green color. Distressed the edges using brown ink and glued scraps of paper from DCWV paper pack. Stamped the sentiment , clock and tape. Decorated the layout using handmade flowers , pearls, beads and lace. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNI0PmH9WcCrlJKEsif2R4vJSsJwDLemBI322CrCwkzbsYEQJJ41XMe-lsvlP4RXZtusrbuC9Q471xnPeopU48C9OXeOJxHICM8nYp9Pk2LD_Btn9ebbn6AJkQY5N9RBbRcCmBMFexmeDH/s1600/DSC04593.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1036" data-original-width="1600" height="258" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNI0PmH9WcCrlJKEsif2R4vJSsJwDLemBI322CrCwkzbsYEQJJ41XMe-lsvlP4RXZtusrbuC9Q471xnPeopU48C9OXeOJxHICM8nYp9Pk2LD_Btn9ebbn6AJkQY5N9RBbRcCmBMFexmeDH/s400/DSC04593.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Since my baby has started to move she is pulling everything from my craft table.Since most of the mixed media supplies are toxic and harmful I don't craft much these days. But will try my best to post as often as possible. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello Friends, Welcome back!! Today's post is about jute jewellery making. Jute jewellery is becoming very famous now not only because of its light weight and unique aesthetics but also because its environmentally friendly. It is fashionable and goes well with casual attire.This is my first attempt in working with jute.i thoroughly enjoyed the process as making and decorating these earrings are easy and less time consuming compared to other types of handmade jewellery. I have a short pictorial for making the earrings. At the end of this post I have mentioned some links from where you can buy jute sheets online in India as well in US.</div>

<br />
1. Jute sheets of different color<br />
2. Scissors<br />
3. cardstock<br />
4. Fabric glue<br />
5.Glue gun<br />
6. jewellery making rope or thread( waxed cotton thread)<br />

7. ruler , compass and pencil<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #274e13;"><b>JUTE JHUMKAS:</b></span><br />
<br />
I referred the tutorial by <a href="http://radhika-hobbycrafts.blogspot.com/2015/09/jute-jhumkas.html" target="_blank">Radhika of hobbycrafts</a> blog for making this. I modified the process a little to make the jhumkas more sturdy.<br />

<br />
<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>Cut two circular pieces from card stock . The radius of the circle is the height of the jhumka . </li>
<li> Draw lines crossing the center of the circle. </li>
<li>Cut the pieces into sectors as shown in pic3. </li>
<li> The bigger sector makes a larger cone and smaller sector makes a narrow cone. Here I have chosen a broader cone as it will be easy to embellish. </li>
<li>Finalize the shape and size of the jhumkas before proceeding to cut on the jute sheet as jute sheets are expensive. </li>
<li>Paste the cut card stock onto the back of the jute sheet to make it more sturdy.</li>
<li>Mark the point where the fold will come and embellish the rest of the jute fabric. </li>
<li>Join both the ends of the sector to make the shape of a cone (jhumka) using a glue gun.</li>
<li>Slightly trim the top of the cone to make a hole to insert eyepin. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<ul style="text-align: left;">
<li>To make one earring we need two pieces of jute fabric cut in the desired shape . </li>
<li>Paste the jute sheet onto a thick paper. Here I have used a watercolor paper.</li>
<li>Cut the pasted portion of the paper and paste the other jute sheet on its back. So it will be two jute sheets sandwiched in between by a thick paper. </li>
<li>Since the edges of the jute sheets are fuzzy we have to glue the jewellery thread to get a neat finish.</li>
<li>Decorate the earring with sequins or bling or wooden beads.</li>
<li>Punch a small hole at the top and attach jump ring.</li>
</ul>
<div>
I made two more earring by following the above procedure.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello Friends, Welcome to my blog!! Today am sharing an altered art project with you all. I have altered an empty salt tin into a mixed media pen stand. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM1G7WJZ6-wYAsM3etxuNJzi-Ej2_Q6CMBq_ExW0bQ7kPLcCjhyphenhyphenNLC9-K-SPOSihtSh5YMt6tRTtP7bsyULTAYQ5KI_bxJXl5x-2wANT4AtNfqATaSWM4jLji7BB23HKelvqLQooEdWKiy/s1600/DSC04329.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjM1G7WJZ6-wYAsM3etxuNJzi-Ej2_Q6CMBq_ExW0bQ7kPLcCjhyphenhyphenNLC9-K-SPOSihtSh5YMt6tRTtP7bsyULTAYQ5KI_bxJXl5x-2wANT4AtNfqATaSWM4jLji7BB23HKelvqLQooEdWKiy/s640/DSC04329.jpg" width="418" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This project is inspired from <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOSgyGwfWuw" target="_blank">Ola Khomenok's</a> tutorial on altered bottle. I first gave two thick coats of gesso to the tin and started working on the textures. The ideas to make different textures was inspired from<a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJXEuTEETWE" target="_blank"> Maremi small art</a>. Initially I created textures using stencil and texture paste. Then mixed seed beads , urad dal and fenugreek seeds with texture paste and applied randomly. Stuck some lace and thread and glued the handmade flowers( made using recollections 5 petal punch) The feather is hand cut from watercolor paper. Finally covered the embellishments and textures using diluted gesso. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvIZIQoanymPjEZgDXWlPzT22t1oEPKggHz4AZcBsKh5mx5Kb12kFtq0n2B9kDgTgXVSSs29tsAaEPEl5LeUtOFJfopHAx4iEDdx6uTcDtmbzqPTrh5kx5Rl4qr9-PCowSf9nR5MPkGShf/s1600/DSC04332.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgvIZIQoanymPjEZgDXWlPzT22t1oEPKggHz4AZcBsKh5mx5Kb12kFtq0n2B9kDgTgXVSSs29tsAaEPEl5LeUtOFJfopHAx4iEDdx6uTcDtmbzqPTrh5kx5Rl4qr9-PCowSf9nR5MPkGShf/s640/DSC04332.jpg" width="360" /></a> </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Once everything is dried I started working on mists and sprays. I used home made shimmer spray of crimson color as the base coat. Then dabbed some metallic red and copper color paint here and there finally dry brushed using old gold metallic paint. Added some dots using liquid pearls. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4bPvHhK9cLWzhnbGaValWkkmBsmOU9mw-zULdbmvkOGZgo3Jk9xpVxoEUz5CX9xxqTQg7Wad-WkZ8ozWnG8sZnHNj3nIippn-SJ1Cs3HCxtLcuzzlV-ELVmcnC-cCEmWnmqqa4spuSXYB/s1600/DSC04347.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="391" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4bPvHhK9cLWzhnbGaValWkkmBsmOU9mw-zULdbmvkOGZgo3Jk9xpVxoEUz5CX9xxqTQg7Wad-WkZ8ozWnG8sZnHNj3nIippn-SJ1Cs3HCxtLcuzzlV-ELVmcnC-cCEmWnmqqa4spuSXYB/s400/DSC04347.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Now this salt tin is ready to decorate my craft table as I will be using it to store my brushes and tools. Hope you all liked this post. See you soon with another post. Have a great weekend!!<br />

For making the flower I followed the tutorial of <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9H76JbyauLw&t=509s" target="_blank">Simplydaisy</a> and used 5 double crochet stitch for big petals and 5 single crochet stitch for small one.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello Friends, Hope you all are doing great . Welcome back !! Today am sharing with you all an altered project using spoons.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkaX0rskQHSvHAYo4DHgS24J2XHWGMX9BbS8Q0_pBN-tuvs08PmiDiQKdPGpqSFc2TBKRt5QIg1hnJ1ZYTUNbKkcT2fVhgQSHUcfef774hqJJd6hNLh735L0xwHjdCHTGPYYIuZ6lmKiRf/s1600/DSC03755.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjkaX0rskQHSvHAYo4DHgS24J2XHWGMX9BbS8Q0_pBN-tuvs08PmiDiQKdPGpqSFc2TBKRt5QIg1hnJ1ZYTUNbKkcT2fVhgQSHUcfef774hqJJd6hNLh735L0xwHjdCHTGPYYIuZ6lmKiRf/s640/DSC03755.jpg" width="518" /></a></div>
</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Two weeks back while I was browsing through pinterest I came across <a href="https://www.pinterest.com/pin/401453754269434999/" target="_blank">this</a> altered wooden spoons. I liked them very much and wanted to try. When we got parcel food from a restaurant last week there were some extra plastic spoons. Also the rotis were packed using a foil and all the boxes were inside a brown paper bag. So not only I enjoyed the food but also recycled the plastic spoons, foil paper and brown paper bag and created this project.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQbISegsPBbsBarzd5UAB-ajzE0voh6ulI5L7IRY-LA-PoLLvPq4odY8IIBu44NwFgmgvsr-XQb7zOHCi4vwlcI5DpFMLop0KVXnWlyNlcab1AU_3uKl_Qd6USUxeCZEi2jYHmK3k2Od2N/s1600/DSC03751.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQbISegsPBbsBarzd5UAB-ajzE0voh6ulI5L7IRY-LA-PoLLvPq4odY8IIBu44NwFgmgvsr-XQb7zOHCi4vwlcI5DpFMLop0KVXnWlyNlcab1AU_3uKl_Qd6USUxeCZEi2jYHmK3k2Od2N/s640/DSC03751.jpg" width="472" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I made it in two different themes - mixed media and secret garden.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The making process:<br />
Mixed media theme:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
For the mixed media one I covered the plastic spoon with the left over aluminium foil ( in which rotis were wrapped) to get a grungy texture. Then randomly applied texture paste and gave the spoon a uniform coat of gesso. Now the spoon is ready to take the paints and sprays. I applied violet, dark blue and magenta pearl acrylics and blue acrylic spray. Once I was satisfied with the result I applied antique gold using the dry brush process. I embellished it using punched flowers.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi30DXl6FvI-1AH3vkICYssyk4lmXfC_ncEpdi-0KQB2JUQCfw4-njaNHXFxGrMNGZaahqtJ32j30kPYHIjigcfhqWhpBvpbmWdUy3UaWQHHLvoWHh5VCVH8mFTO6eXkANTmB7K958-TevJ/s1600/DSC03759.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi30DXl6FvI-1AH3vkICYssyk4lmXfC_ncEpdi-0KQB2JUQCfw4-njaNHXFxGrMNGZaahqtJ32j30kPYHIjigcfhqWhpBvpbmWdUy3UaWQHHLvoWHh5VCVH8mFTO6eXkANTmB7K958-TevJ/s640/DSC03759.jpg" width="234" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Secret garden spoon:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This idea is inspired from our recycle queen Rupa's altered strainer into a nest. I covered the spoon with a pattern paper and distressed the edges with brown color. The nest is made by shredding the brown paper bag. The flowers are punched using recollection daisy punch and distressed using inks. The leaves are hand cut , the sentiment is hand written and the butterfly is a print out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHmdnXhYx06ZoFl28bVkOYn424rFwMdk5wkaDn3pt0_Np5CRr_Eye3rCXw2Nyl9uK2EnmvaLBlcOeB9VF2W_SmBCvKakD5G11vxxcbKQzEq_yGeod5SyDR4p_6CXp6mjcd_hK0aPJgIZeT/s1600/DSC03768.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHmdnXhYx06ZoFl28bVkOYn424rFwMdk5wkaDn3pt0_Np5CRr_Eye3rCXw2Nyl9uK2EnmvaLBlcOeB9VF2W_SmBCvKakD5G11vxxcbKQzEq_yGeod5SyDR4p_6CXp6mjcd_hK0aPJgIZeT/s640/DSC03768.jpg" width="254" /></a></div>
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
After finishing these spoons I wanted to showcase it in an apt place. My 6 month old baby daughter loves seeing the fridge magnets when I take her to kitchen . So glued two magnets each in both the spoons and added it to our fridge magnet collection for her to enjoy.<br />
<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello Friends welcome back!! Its the month of february so its all about roses and hearts. Today am sharing with you all a rose bouquet wall mural done on a canvas board.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnxKAmmCFgjqCumwksVxYzUCuna1R3FknixpQF3P0UHUoPll58XZzCa_L4Pb-kiHbfI3xgni_ic-pRJ0OOnQH0YKeMi9b7KkeK3i8IxWdnjPYjoyll8qa_r2aEmF94bKN4lQBDn995ISw5/s1600/DSC03723.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnxKAmmCFgjqCumwksVxYzUCuna1R3FknixpQF3P0UHUoPll58XZzCa_L4Pb-kiHbfI3xgni_ic-pRJ0OOnQH0YKeMi9b7KkeK3i8IxWdnjPYjoyll8qa_r2aEmF94bKN4lQBDn995ISw5/s640/DSC03723.jpg" width="514" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is my first attempt in making a clay mural. I actually started this project last year but for some reason could't compete. Last week while I was hanging my other craft projects I came across this unfinished canvas and decided to finish it.</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwcNjTE7vR8BwkC1HhyphenhyphengPdGUQnBHsx9oW1MYsyybtvhP2tXO67rXxRx6LxsYtOv6PoKQkUak-oRPWE00lmJliV0NHzc07itJM0o1sl4luCSB-y0nbFBiKMKeuwtEKMTxLb-0fPcTYKL1pN/s1600/DSC03733.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="287" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwcNjTE7vR8BwkC1HhyphenhyphengPdGUQnBHsx9oW1MYsyybtvhP2tXO67rXxRx6LxsYtOv6PoKQkUak-oRPWE00lmJliV0NHzc07itJM0o1sl4luCSB-y0nbFBiKMKeuwtEKMTxLb-0fPcTYKL1pN/s400/DSC03733.jpg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I have used polyform brand air dry clay. They are easy to mold as well dries very hard and doesn't break.I have used fevicryl acrylic colours for painting the mural. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFAKM5VyrKV3zrWGxAW3q8l2JYe0qDYoTfTzt-DedbCobY_vZctB1BLaJLjuMA6jxFZ3Komcm0q0TL0XaIXlu7DkzGQo0vp8nM8NRChHr89MVzxtboE5uqK_h9LTEUcBcePRyZjVxmxisr/s1600/DSC03724-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFAKM5VyrKV3zrWGxAW3q8l2JYe0qDYoTfTzt-DedbCobY_vZctB1BLaJLjuMA6jxFZ3Komcm0q0TL0XaIXlu7DkzGQo0vp8nM8NRChHr89MVzxtboE5uqK_h9LTEUcBcePRyZjVxmxisr/s400/DSC03724-2.jpg" width="325" /></a></div>

Hello friends, Welcome back!! Today am sharing with you all dot painting/ aboriginal art on canvas inspired from pinterest. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This art work consisting of dots , cross hatching , maps of circles , spirals is the long established language of Western desert aboriginal people. The dot technique gives the painting an almost 3D effect and a sense of movement . <div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I got inspired by <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/RaechelSaunders" target="_blank">Rachelsaunders</a> work and followed her style. I used 16cm*10cm canvas and folkart acrylic paints. The interesting thing about this work is that it can be done using simple household objects and doesn't call for artist brushes. For the big dots I used the backside of my parker pen , for the medium and small dots I used backside of my brush and toothpick respectively.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

This is indeed a very relaxing and therapeutic art. It helped me to overcome my stress of motherhood and sleepless nights. Thanks for stopping by. See you with another interesting post. Have a great week ahead!!<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello friends, Welcome back !! Am happy to be back to crafting after 8 long months!! Today am sharing with you all a mixed media monogram made using packaging cardboard. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This post is dedicated to the new arrival of our family - my daughter Vinaya. She is 5 months old now and have started observing colors and flowers. We have planned to have a small welcome baby party for our friends. So to decorate the house I made this flowered letter/monogram/ photo frame with my daughter's name keeping in mind the bright colors she like.</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Here is the pictorial of the monogram:</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Draw and cut the letter V in a canvas paper. Using that as the template draw and cut the alphabet from the packaging cardboard. Paste the canvas sheet over the cardboard and prime it with thick coats of gesso. I used Artist's loft white gesso. Once its dried create textures using stencils and texture paste. I used Americana stencils and liquitex texture paste. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Add colors using acrylic sprays or paints. I used teal color shine spray, pink homemade shimmer spray , violet and gold pearl paint. I repeated the process till I was satisfied with the result. For attaching the frame and alphabets glue a piece of cardboard and canvas sheets on the sides as shown above.Finally embellish the monogram with flowers, glitters, pearls and sequins. All the flowers are handmade and the alphabets are written with pitt marker pen.</div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello and welcome to my blog!! Today am sharing some simple urban sketches made using fountain pen. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgb8wd_dPuOGhiNhdBAVTyRhukv0AKwfxY_gYpdDAozC-mpLqOevMzPRLHaPEPc_Qj-FLukacYqCQ1Fr5I-kQpJkq_D_yrQcKv9UtponuWCNmEErnVkFvYUJ8iPzf1hyphenhyphenpCf6T0bFFiOXoSH/s1600/tags+%25285+of+10%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgb8wd_dPuOGhiNhdBAVTyRhukv0AKwfxY_gYpdDAozC-mpLqOevMzPRLHaPEPc_Qj-FLukacYqCQ1Fr5I-kQpJkq_D_yrQcKv9UtponuWCNmEErnVkFvYUJ8iPzf1hyphenhyphenpCf6T0bFFiOXoSH/s640/tags+%25285+of+10%2529.jpg" width="448" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Whenever I visited some of the landmark places in US I used to see people doing quick sketches of them in their sketchbook. I too wanted to carry a small moleskine journal with me and make sketching travelogue in future. So to start with tried some of the urban pen sketches from the net before proceeding to sketch outdoors. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDOoJiYZ8ODi18kcNVWXuzdFInP6MeLbds915NMj-kS37q5DjNgj070P-dB8CPsVPa-Bu2wmKToZKmgSN0Cji3HP12PAsXha6srcCj7BTvC2QJRHVGz-4EwSqpghJTFnvDjV1Iw6wr1_rI/s1600/tags+%25288+of+10%2529.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjDOoJiYZ8ODi18kcNVWXuzdFInP6MeLbds915NMj-kS37q5DjNgj070P-dB8CPsVPa-Bu2wmKToZKmgSN0Cji3HP12PAsXha6srcCj7BTvC2QJRHVGz-4EwSqpghJTFnvDjV1Iw6wr1_rI/s640/tags+%25288+of+10%2529.jpg" width="440" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
The pen that they use for urban sketching is pigma micron pen. Since that pen was unavailable in the nearby shops I used my fountain pen to sketch these images.I love writing with fountain pen that even today I write my daily journal and dairy using them rather than ball point. The fountain pen that I used here was a gift from my husband. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Initially I thought that urban sketches follow the same rules as normal drawings of buildings so made all the lines with a ruler and was shading than hatching. But soon I understood that the beauty of pen sketches lies in their loose casual strokes as they are drawn quickly mostly under 20 min. So I followed the tutorial of Alphonso Dunn on urban sketching. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello Friends , Welcome back to my blog!! I am sharing with you all a pen and pencil sketch of the same landscape " Kirkwall Harbour basin - Scotland." The inspiration for this sketch is from the book - " Beautiful landscapes " by Diane Wright of drawing made easy series. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This is the first book which I had shopped when I was in US. Though I had used it for learning the basics I didn't try sketching an entire landscape. I bought this book along while coming from US and started sketching the outline of this landscape to recover from jet lag. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
Later that week I had to go the lab for routine tests. Since it will take 3 hours for the tests to complete took the sketch book and pencils with me and started shading . Many people who passed by stood there for sometime seeing me sketch. Though initially it was embarrassing slowly started enjoying the company of people around me. By the time I was out of the lab I was done with this sketch. </div>

After seeing the video tutorial of <a href="https://www.youtube.com/user/ohheydevin1992/videos" target="_blank">Devin Viele</a> I got interested in sketching using ball point pen so was searching for some reference images to start with . I spotted a sketch similar to the above so thought of sketching the same using ball point pen. This is my debut attempt in ball point sketch, I used Rorito 0.7mm ball point pen. </div>

<div style="text-align: justify;">
Hello friends , feeling excited to be back to blog land after six months of maternity vacation. Happy to inform you all that now am a mother of 45 days old cute princess who keeps me busy all the time. As I had come to India for my delivery and had to vacate my house in US couldn't carry my craft supplies. Also I was busy with doctor check ups , relatives visiting me and baby shower function so read my crafty pals blog. </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
To keep myself occupied and away from the pregnancy blues started to do pencil sketching. I was little hesitant to post after such a long time but it was my husband who encouraged me to post my sketches which I did during my pregnancy. </div>

Sharing some of my still life sketches... All the sketches are done on 60 lb , fine tooth surface paper using artist's loft pencils.</div>
