CHRISTMAS MESSAGES IN A BOX

by - November 23, 2014

Hello friends, Today I have an exciting post to share with you all. I made a match box style gift box for Christmas. I followed the tutorial of Rachel's matchbox template and adjusted the measurements to suit my needs. (Picture heavy post)

The box measures 17*10*10.5 cm. I have used black card stock and DCWV paper for the outer cover of the box. I decorated the box using red foam roses and pearls. I created a window at the center and pasted a transparent plastic sheet so that the contents inside the box are visible.

For the inside drawer I have recycled the packaging material . Then I painted the outside of the box using black acrylics and used green pattern paper for the inside of the drawer.  Now what is inside the box?? Lets open it...

The box contains 5 tags, each conveying a message of the Santa Claus for Christmas which is Joy, peace, believe , hope and finally merry Christmas.  This month at CSCC we are celebrating Christmas. Its time for making "Christmas Tags". So this is what I made for my DT inspiration. Check out my post here.

Here is the close up of each tag:

For this tag I have used papers from DCWV paper stack. The flowers are handmade using six petal punch and cardstock. At the center of the flowers I have used Urad dal instead of pollen.

For this tag I  created the background using distress inks and the lines are drawn using black ballpoint pen. The flowers are handmade and distressed using inks.

In this tag I have used pattern paper from recollections for the background and the flowers are handmade using A4 paper and colored using watercolors.

I stuck a piece of newspaper upon the card stock and applied pink and yellow alcohol inks. Then I embellished the tag using handmade flowers and die cuts.

The last tag is made using glitter foam sheet and handmade spiral roses. The sentiment is handwritten.

I arranged my tags into a decorative Christmas wall hanging conveying the messages of the festival. Am dedicating this post and this gift to my best friend Helen Catherine who is very special to me. She is my college friend and we used to spend lot of time together and have the taste in almost everything.  Merry Christmas Helen... My small dedication to you...

Here is the overall picture of the project. Hope you all like my match box with Christmas messages. Do join us at CSCC.
