ICE CREAM GREETING CARD

by - February 13, 2014

Hello Friends, Today am posting a card made for beyond grey challenges. The challenge is to create a card having one sweet food item on it and use atleast three colours from the palette they have given.  For the past one week i wanted to have ice cream but since the weather is rainy could'nt eat. When i saw this challenge i decided to make a card containing ice cream.. I wanted my ice cream to be more realistic so avoided digital stamps or cut outs and opted for clay. So i modeled a cup ice cream using clay and here is the card that  i have created.

Below is the palette they have given

I used almost all the colours from the palette. Initially i printed out the pattern papers of all the colours given in the palette.

PROCEDURE TO MAKE THE CLAY ICE CREAM:

YELLOW BASE:

TO MAKE THE CUP:

I used soft clay ( air dry clay) for making  ice cream.

For cutting the clay i used palette knife. You can use pen knife or any sharp objects

TO MAKE THE VANILLA BORDER:

TO MAKE THE SCOOP AND ICING:

Finally add a small ball of clay for cherry.

I allowed this to dry for a day and then painted using acrylic colours. Then i applied 3 coats of varnish to get the glossy look.

I cut the cardstock in the teapot shape and spasted the ice cream on it. Then i arranged the patten papers and decorated the card using flowers and butterfly. Since the card is about ice cream i stamped the sentiment "You melt my heart."

I enjoyed making this simple yet delicious card . Do you like my ice cream?? Gift your loved ones with this ice cream card for valentine's day. Happy valentine's day to all my friends.
Happy crafting!!
