DIY 2014 PLANNER BOARD

by - January 01, 2014

Hello friends , its time for the dawn of a new year. So am posting a useful tutorial on making a planner/memo board for 2014 from recycled materials ( cardboard , old gift wrappers , calendar sheets, cereal boxes etc). Lets get started off with this new year project.

MATERIALS NEEDED:
  1. Big size cardboard boxes ( i used the internet connection kit box)
  2. Gift wrapper
  3. coloured tissue papers ( kite papers)
  4. Cereal box
  5. Printable monthly calendar
  6. Embellishments and decorative items of your choice
  7. Photo
  8. Old calendar sheets
  9. Sticky notes
PROCEDURE:

Cut the cardboard box to the size required for your planner board. In the center cut like this ( pic below) for keeping the photo. The size of the rectangle in the center depends on the size of your photo. You can also cut multiple rectangular layouts to keep as many photos u want to.

Cover the cardboard with the gift wrapper.

Decorate the board of your choice by leaving space for sticking to do lists.

Here i have hand cut the word create from ordinary paper. You can cut out your own sentiments or if you have more space you can even paste some inspirational quote.

I decorated the photo frame by sticking flowers made of coloured tissue papers.  On top of the sentiment i stuck some punch craft flowers and quilled the leaves. I will make a tutorial on these flowers in my future posts.

Now you can start pasting your to do lists and photo on the board. I used post-it as they are easy to remove and wont damage the board.

For making the envelope holder board take a smaller size cardboard box and cover it with gift wrapper.

Take the cereal box , from the bottom mark 4 inches and cut it. Paste it on the smaller board by using hot glue from glue gun and board pins.

Cut the old calendar sheets and make small pockets for holding envelopes.

I pinned the jan 2014 calendar on the board and marked the important dates using colour pencils.

So here is the decorative planner board for 2014 made by recycling the waste materials of 2013.

I categorized my to do lists as follows : to do list for blog posts , to do's in craft , grocery and shopping list , call and mail list and other works list.

This planner board makes it easy for me to organize my work . This board serves as a beautiful photo frame as well as a wall decor.

Instead of sticky notes the to-do list printables can also be used. School or college time table can also be stuck in the photo frame.

You can download to do list printables by click here .
Hence friends , get motivated and organized with your DIY planner board this 2014. This would be a perfect gift to welcome 2014. Below is the image of an inspirational to do list.

Let's follow this list everyday and make this year a successful and memorable one in our life. Wishing you all a very happy and prosperous 2014.

Happy Crafting!!!
